Stephen and Jessica tied the knot in July of 2021. I was so excited to photograph this outdoor wedding especially because I’ve known Jessie since high school. We had art class together and we always admired each other’s work. Jessie said there was nobody else she could have pictured photographing her special day! Steve and Jessie held their wedding on Jessie’s parents’ beautiful property. It made for such a gorgeous place for a wedding!
I captured some beautiful pictures of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready before the ceremony. Jessie’s dress was a one-of-a-kind, gorgeous white lace dress with delicately detailed beading. She looked absolutely stunning in it! I was also able to take some pictures of the groom and groomsmen getting ready. They had such a unique area for the groomsmen to get ready, the room definitely had a manly feel to it!
Jessie did a secret first look with a letter exchange Steve before the ceremony started. With a secret first look, the bride sees the groom but the groom does not see the bride. It was a modern twist to a traditional ceremony experience! It also helped ease the bride and groom’s nerves before the ceremony. Steve and Jessie exchanged notes during their secret first look which made it so genuine and heartfelt. Jessie also did a first look with her dad where she gave him a handmade gift, it was a very special and emotional moment!
The ceremony was wonderful and afterward, we captured some bride and groom portraits during cocktail hour. The wedding portraits were my favorite! They have a fun, flirty feeling to them! We were also able to take some shots of the happy couple by the pond they had on the property and the results gave such The Notebook vibes. I took some pictures of the bride and groom’s rings as well because you know I love my detailed shots! On the inside of Steve’s ring, the words “back porch, forever with you” are engraved on it. Steve and Jessie have always talked about having a place of their own with a beautiful back porch to sit and have their coffee on. It’s something that is very special to them, so Jessie had it engraved on Steve’s ring.
Right before the reception started the sirens went off and a tornado was about to hit the Northern Macomb County area. We had to go inside for the reception but it made the day even more memorable! This was such a beautiful outdoor wedding and I’m so happy to share the photos with all of you!
Mr. and Mrs. Caron, you’re coming up to one year in your journey as husband and wife! I hope it has been nothing short of amazing and I can’t thank you enough for instilling your trust in me to capture your beautiful day!
